CIIC had the honor of spreading all the good news regarding the inaugural Woodstock Film Festival. The event began with a pre-festival kick off party at NYC's famed Knitting Factory in August, 2000 and continued with five days of non-stop screenings (including a retrospective of Les Blank films), workshops, parties, galas and more in September, 2000. Concerts presented in conjunction with the festival included Graham Parker and Pakistani singer Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The well-attended festival ended with a screening of Barbara Kopple's My Generation and an awards ceremony that acknowledged established film makers and opened doors for some of the world's most creative new talents.
