NJCASA (NJ Coalition Against Sexual Assault) was launched in January of 2000, when NJ's 21 rape-crisis centers, which had been in existence for over 20 years, finally got the funding needed to open a central headquarters, hire an executive director and begin a strategic public education campaign. After interviewing other candidates, the NJCASA team determined that CIIC was most qualified to take on the task of introducing the agency's mission throughout the Garden State. To that end, we have generated artistically-rendered transit-system posters, brochures, billboards and other means of "spreading the word." Moreover, we have created strategic radio and TV PSAs -- and followed up to ensure that they are being utilized by radio and TV stations throughout the state. We have also produced numerous press releases and pitch letters, the result of which is that we have secured interviews for NJCASA's spokespersons on TV, radio and in print. Our outreach has been so effective that we have even secured placements outside the state, including half-hour segment on CBS, WPIX, WABC and more.
