The Challenge: Without ever wanting to lose footing and loyalty among
its strong California, Arizona, Northwest, etc., visitor-base, the Los
Cabos Tourism Board needed to expand awareness of the destination beyond
its traditional west coast audience and begin building interest and exposure
throughout the U.S. and particularly in regions around new flight routes.
The Strategy: We embarked on media tours and intense media relations
in new
non-traditional markets including Chicago/Midwest, New York/Tri-State
and
Atlanta/Southeast. We developed a depth of story opportunities emphasizing
the exotic nature of the destination and its new-found accessibility.
