CIIC Hosts Los Cabos Spa & Golf Weekend Press Trip

From July 19 to July 21, CIIC hosted a weekend press trip on behalf of the Los Cabos Tourism Board geared toward spa and golf writers. CIIC Account Executive, Alyssa DiPalma escorted the group of eight journalists on excursions and activities during the trip.IMG_3575The Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf Resort & Spa, Los Cabos served as the host hotel for this trip.

After a day of travel, the group took a tour of San José del Cabo on Thursday evening, which included stops at local art galleries and dinner at Don Sanchez Restaurant. Owner and Chef, Tadd F. Chapman prepared a special menu for the group and joined them during the meal.

Don Sanchez food Some of the delectable delights that were served at Don Sanchez included Shrimp Tempura with a pitaya foam and coconut gazpacho and Fresh Oyster on Half Shell with red wine mignonette watermelon.

On Friday, the schedule allowed the spa and golf writers to split on separate excursions to start the day. The spa writers went off to One&Only Palmilla, which was recently rated #1 by Expedia’s Insider Select for 2013 out of 650 hotels. There, they toured the property and enjoyed a spa experience. Meanwhile, the golf writers headed off to Cabo Del Sol to play a morning round on the world-renowned ocean course. IMG_3608

In the afternoon, the two groups split again for separate activities, with the spa writers going off to Capella Pedregal Cabo San Lucas Resort for another property tour and spa experience while the golf writers had some free time. Dinner reunited everyone at the field-to-table organic farm and restaurant, Flora Farms.

On Saturday, the golf writers started their day by playing golf at Cabo Real, where they also ate lunch. Then, they were off to another round of golf at Diamonte Cabo San Lucas.

Meanwhile, the spa writers started their Saturday with a Cabo Adventures Sea & Snorkel tour which included snorkeling, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding (SUP). Lunch was served in a private suite at the Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort. Afterwards, the spa group enjoyed a Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort site inspection and a Soma Wine spa experience with a spa treatment and wine tasting. IMG_3708Cabo Adventures’ Sea & Snorkel tour included a boat ride close to El Arco, the famous arch rock formation close to Cabo San Lucas.

To close the trip, the golf and spa writers reunited for a final group dinner hosted by De Cortez Grill and Restaurant at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort, Los Cabos, and were joined by the Sheraton's Nadezda Donovon, Tour and Travel Sales Manager and De Cortez Grill and Restaurant's Livia Mouffron, Public Relations.
