CIIC Brings Los Cabos to the Big Apple
The CIIC team was in “event mode” recently to manage and coordinate back-to-back functions in New York City on behalf of the Los Cabos Tourism Board. For the first event, CIIC executed a travel industry cocktail reception at Aquavit for The Luxury Collection of Los Cabos, a collection of the finest resorts in fabulous Los Cabos, Mexico.
Properties in attendance included Capella Pedregal; One&Only Palmilla; Las Ventanas al Paraiso; Esperanza, An Auberge Resort; and Del Mar Resort Communities as well as tourism officials from the Los Cabos Tourism Board, who were on hand to share the latest news from the properties with New York’s influential travel agent community. Each of the hotel participants had the opportunity to connect and share information during an intimate cocktail party, complete with a tequila tasting courtesy of Tequilas Premium, whose representatives were on hand serving up Clase Azul and La Pinta to guests.
The Los Cabos Tourism board announced plans to welcome a new direct flight from New York’s John F. Kennedy (JFK) airport to San Jose del Cabo (SJD) airport via Aeromexico. The new flight officially launches on January 18, 2014 and will run non-stop once a week from New York to Los Cabos. CIIC secured a partnership with Aeromexico to provide one lucky attendee round-trip airfare for two to Los Cabos via the airline’s new direct flight out and Aeromexico representatives were on hand to promote it.

The following day, CIIC coordinated the Los Cabos Tourism Board’s annual press luncheon hosted at Empellón Taqueria in the West Village. Empellón Taqueria, the creation of Chef Alex Stupak, is an elegant, authentic Mexican taqueria, known for its intense focus on delivering delicious tacos in a delightful setting. Chef Stupak was recently named as one of Food & Wine’s “Best New Chefs” of 2013.
The luncheon was a huge success, with more than 40 of NYC’s top travel & lifestyle media in attendance such as Travel + Leisure, Golf Digest, The Today Show, Food & Wine and Latina, just to name a few. The format of the event was a "networking luncheon" where 11 Los Cabos hoteliers participated and shared information and news with attendees. The participating hotels varied from amazing all-inclusives such as the new Secrets Puerto Los Cabos and the recently rebranded Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos to five-star luxury properties including Las Ventanas al Paraiso, Capella Pedregal, One&Only Palmilla and many others.

Through these events, CIIC facilitated connections for the destination and hoteliers of Los Cabos with high-profile media and travel industry professionals in New York and the greater tri-state area.
