Next Assignment: CIIC travels to Puerto Rico
CIIC had the pleasure of hosting and planning a press trip to the wonderful destination of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Caribe Hilton was home for the weekend and the group experienced the charm of historic Old San Juan, underwater adventures, farm-to-table dinning and the hospitality of one of Puerto Rico’s most iconic hotels.
Take a glimpse into our journey here; you’re in for a treat!
Kristin Delia from our New York office and Amy Sedeño from our Miami outpost headed to sunny Puerto Rico to host a media trip at the Caribe Hilton San Juan hotel.
Trying the the Piña Colada upon arrival is practically a rite of passage since the property’s Caribar is the birthplace of the tropical cocktail. A delicious experiment by bartender Ramon “Monchito” Marrero turned out to be Puerto Rico’s national cocktail and an ode to the country’s flavors.
As if you needed yet another reason to keep Puerto Rico at the top of your vacation list.
After sipping on Piña Coladas and learning about their history, the group was ready to indulge in a farm-to-table interactive lunch with Caribe Hilton’s Executive Chef, Isaac Pacheco. Pacheco is part of a culinary movement that focuses on the use of the island’s natural resources to create flavorsome, unique dishes.
Next on the list was a tour of Old San Juan. The magical city, known for its rich history, vintage charm, romantic ambience and colorful architecture, kept the writers captivated even through some light rain.
To spice it up with a little adventure, the next activity on the trip included water and an astronaut helmet: Sea Trek. This underwater journey allowed the group to experience Puerto Rico’s vibrant marine life. Fun fact: Caribe Hilton offers the Sea Trek experience right from their private beach and even people without swimming abilities can participate.
Unfortunately, every trip has to come to an end but in Puerto Rico no one leaves without dancing! The group enjoyed a night out Paseo Caribe were they jammed to a live band covering Journey and Billy Joel.
There you have it; a glimpse into one of the most vivacious islands the Caribbean has to offer. Want to see more? Check out the group’s journey by searching these hashtags on Instagram: #CaribeHilton #CatchMeAtCaribeHilton #ShareMyCaribePic
